A fine solid silver spoon commemorating the Diamond Jubillee of Queen Victoria in 1897, in its original fitted box. On the top of the handle is the bust of Victoria, with 'OUR QUEEN' written and a crown at the top. '1837-1897' is written down the handle with a ribbon and bow. Dimensions : It is 13.5cm long and weighs 23.6 grams. Hallmarks : The spoon is English sterling silver hallmarked for Sheffield 1896 (Crown, Lion Passant, date letter d). The maker's mark is 'JD over WD', which refers to the silversmiths James Deakin & Sons. Condition : The spoon is in fine condition, with no dings, splits or repairs. There is a very slight bend in the handle, about 3/4 of the way down. Almost not noticeable, but I thought I should mention it. The box is fine, a few scuff marks as one would expect. It closes with a good snap. Postage/insurance : I have various options, both domestic and abroad, for sending the spoon. PLEASE NOTE THAT SILVER WILL NOT BE INSURED (AS IT IS A PRECIOUS METAL) UNLESS SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY/INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR. IF YOU WISH TO HAVE YOUR ITEM SENT INSURED, PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT OPTION AT CHECKOUT. I always obtain proof of postage. The following options are available: DOMESTIC (WITHIN THE UK) POSTAGE: Recorded Delivery: £2.20 (the package will not be insured, but will require a signature on arrival)
