This is a vintage brass livery tag with leather strap. It was used by the S. Major Feed and Livery to keep track of their horses or those boarded overnight for travelers. The leater strap is about 10 inches long and the tag measures almost 1 3/4 by 1 1/2 inches. In our 1920 atlas it lists Decauter, Ind. with just over 4700 people. This tag is blank on the back. This is an interesting piece of Indiana history, back in the horse days. Thanks for looking!
