This is an early brass skater's lantern with its original amethyst globe. I think the lantern is from the 1880's or 1890's. The brass lantern is in great shape, as well as the globe. The lantern stands 11" tall from the base to the top of the handle. The brass tank is 3 3/4" across at the base and is 1" tall. The brass is in excellent condition. It even has its original wick. T is no corrosion on the inside of the tank. It does not appear to have been used very much. The skater's lantern top is in great shape, no dends or splits. The bail handle is in excellent shape. The skater's lantern globe is 4" tall, it is 2 3/4" wide at the widest point, the globe is 1 5/8" across at the top, 2" across at the base. It has a ground top as well as a ground base. T is some small chipping on the base of the globe that probably happened when the lip was ground. T are no cracks or stains. The globe is very whittled and has a few bubbles. T is one little scuff on the outside of the globe, but, nothing bad. This globe was made in this amethyst color. The color of the globe is unbelieveable. The color is very vibrant. This is not a lantern globe that has turned purple from the sunlight or has been nuked. This is the original color. The lantern looks to have been cleaned sometime ago. These colored lantern globes are becoming hard to find, especially
