Artist: FREDA BEARD Size: 44 x 34 in./111.7 x 86.5 cm Waterlow, London Active primarily in the 1920s, Beard created numerous works for the London Underground as well as other commercial events. Here, she designed what is perhaps her best composition - a dreamy, moonlit view of the Themes in promotion of the British Empire Exhibition. The event was held only in 1924 and 1925, and focused on the many oddities and treasures present within the Empire's 58 colonies.
