Presenting a beautiful “Woodie” Buddy ‘L’ Town and Country Convertible. Made during the 1940’s. During WWII Buddy ‘L’ had to make its toys out of wood due to the demand for metals. Made of wood, 18 ½” long, side panels pained Brown and natural and a roof painted gray. The rear trunk opens and the roof folds back into it before closing the trunk. Window frames are made of metal as are the hood strip, headlights, front “grill” and bumper, steering wheel, and the axels and hub caps. There are also several metal pins and eyelet hooks used throughout the piece. The black tires are made of wood. The back of the trunk sports the Buddy ‘L’ logo decal. Overall the unit is in good to very good condition. The most notable point is the regarding the metal frame window. The driver’s side piece has come looses and could be reattached with anything from glue to brads. That loose piece and the other side and front pieces do exhibit several dents, bends, and rusty spots. Only the passenger side window has the accompanying plastic window. The steering wheel has some rusting and the hubs have a few small spots. The paint job is predominantly intact but the unit does exhibit some minor wear with an occasional nick or scratch. The white walls on the tires seem to be where the paint loss occurred (about 30% to 40%) Please see all photos below
