This is an original Baldwin Locomotive Works builders plate built for France under direction of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps. in 1945. This is a rare plate and when we looked it up the serial numbers bracketting it in a Baldwin book were all diesel plates. However, this number was not listed and the standouts on the back are curved like it was mounted on a boiler for a steam engine, leading us to believe this was the builder plate for a steam locomotive. Aside from that information, and what the plate says on it, not much is known about this plate. T is a casting number on the back of the plate and it's in very good condition, but the type of engine it came from is unknown. If anyone reading this listing knows any more about this plate or the engine it came from please message me, thank you, and and good luck bidding.
