Brass builders plate from a logging donkey built by the Willamette Iron & Steel Works, Portland, Oregon. The plate gives the specifications of the engine as 9 1/4 X 10 engine number 1966. Boiler tested to 262. Working pressure 175. T is no manufacture date on the plate. The donkey was used by the Feather River Lumber Company that was headquartered at Feather Falls, California. The plate is curved to match the steam cylinder on which it was mounted and was removed in the early 1960's prior to the donkey being sent for scrap. The Willamette Iron & Steel Works was known for producing locomotives as well as logging machinery. The donkey was similar to the one pictured which shows the builders plate mounted on the steam cylinder. The plate is oval and is 9 3/4 inches wide and 6 1/4 inches high. The plate weighs just shy of 2 1/2 pounds and is in very good condition. Returns will be accepted within 14 days after the close of the auction if the description was inaccurate but return shipping will not be reimbursed. If the buyer chooses not to pay for insurance then they assume responsibility for any loss or damage in shipping. T is a 10 day hold if payment is made by personal check.
