The Nate was the Imperial Japanese Army's first mono-wing fighter. Introduced in 1938, it quickly achieved air dominance in the skies over China. The Ki27 was also superior to most of the Russian fighters that it faced in the fighting along the Mongolian frontier. Soon, though, it met more advanced opponents like the Russian Polikarpov I-16 and American Curtiss P-40. By 1940 the Ki27 was being replaced in front line units. This model depicts a Ki27 of the 102 nd Flight Company Sqn. in Kakogawa, Japan 1941.No decals used and only lightly weathered. Notice that the radio mast is not glued in place as it would almost be guaranteed to break off. You can attach it on your end. The one-piece canopy is just set atop the cockpit with no need for gluing. The propeller just slides in. The pitot on the wing also goes in with some gentle twisting.I will pack this model well but you must be prepared to handle minor repairs on your end. Auction is for the Ki27 model only. The auction does not include building supplies, tools, room furnishings, other models, or my hand. I'll include some instructions for you to place the parts that are removed for shipping.International bidders: I'm trying to fight high postage costs by shipping with USPS First Class mail outside of the USA. Also understand that Fluffy does not play any games on customs forms.
