This auction presents a very impressive Early American Pattern Glass bride's basket in an ornate silverplated frame. The pattern is U.S. Glass Company's "Delaware" which was introduced about 1900 and the color is bright green with gilded detail. The frame has classic scroll and shell motifs with grapes and four paw feet. It is unmarked. The basket measures 11 7/8" long, 6 1/2" wide, 5" to the rim (including stand) and 9 3/4" to the top of the handle. The glass insert is in excellent estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs noted. There is very minor wear on the gold accents--not at all noticeable but mentioned for accuracy. The frame is also in good shape with no damage or repairs found. Apparently it was gold-washed or gilded at one time but a good bit of the finish is gone. I did not clean or polish the metal. This lovely "Delaware" bride's basket will be a worthy addition to a collection! The cost of U.S. insured shipping and very careful packing varies with your postal zone--see USPS estimate above.
