ca. 1923 Lemco Crystal Detector Radio Set.....Working

Lemco model 340 crystal detector radio made in 1923 at San Francisco, Ca. The radio is complete, and in good original condition with minor scuffing, but no gouges. The case is dove-tailed with a mahogany finish. T are two eyelets at either end for neat connections, for the headset, aerial and ground. The red and gold Lemco decal looks nice on the cabinet front....with all lettering clear. The instruction Lid Card explains all connections, and states "Lee Electric And Manufacturing Co. San Francisco" is aged and legible.

I found the receiver to be working remarkable well with an outdoor aerial, the dual tap switches providing good selectivity, and the sensitive galena made for good volume into my Baldwin headset. The nickle binding posts have provisions for two headsets.

This radio is described in Crystal Clear page 68 Fig. 71, which verifies it as the early version. A fun radio, that would make a nice display. Please email me any questions.
