Canadian Nova Scotia Art Bailly Woodcut Lot (x2) c1930

Gallery 18 Ltd. offering two (2) original woodcut prints by noted Nova Scotia artist Evern Earl(e) Bailly (1903-1977).
Both prints are being offered together in a single lot.
These are not modern reproductions.

Bailly was born in Lunenburg, where, at the age of three, he contracted polio and became quadriplegic.
For the remainder of his life, he used a wheelchair.
At the age of six, with a pencil in his mouth, Earl began to draw.
Later, holding a brush in his teeth, he started painting.
Until his death at 74, the artist created hundreds of works of art.

Here is a brief description of the 2 items in this lot...
1.) Title: (Bluenose).
This woodcut was produced to help pay for Bailly's passage on the Bluenose to the Chicago World's Fair in 1933.
Image measures about 6" x 5 1/2" (15.2 x 13.9 cm).
Shows age toning and minor foxing.
Overall, we rate the condition as fair to good.
2.) Title: Blue Rocks.
Image measures about 5 1/2" x 7" (13.9 x 17.7 cm).
Shows minor age toning, marginal creasing, and foxing.
Overall, we rate the condition as fair to good.
