CASED MODEL OF THE PILOT SCHOONER DANCING FEATHER Circa 1920
With fine details and furled sails. Hull painted white above waterline and green below. Red bootstripe. Model built by architect Nicol Bissell of Mamaroneck, New York. The pilot schooner Dancing Feather was designed by Dennison J. Lawlor of Boston and built in 1853. Height 31.75". Length 36.25". Width 13.25". Accompanied by instructions and a sketch handwritten and drawn by Bissell on one page of her letterhead, and addressed to the new owner of the model: "Enjoy the model, I know I did when making it 40 years ago!".
