Chessie's Old Man Joins the Service
Fun facts: "Peake-Chessie's Old Man," as created by Charles E. Bracker. Peake first appeared in advertisements around Father's Day in 1937, with his first calendar appearance in 1938. Peake's real stardome came as a result of his many Chessie Calendar appearances as a "soldier" during World War II. His name, of course, completes the word "Chesapeake" in the railways name, thus "Chessie" + "Peake" = Chesapeake.
