12 Inch UnmarkedEuropean (Probably Italian) Sweet Flirty Eyed Doll Early Painted Hard Plastic Original Batiste Dress and Fine Straw Hat "This charming doll belonged to the mother of a friend. Her relatives were in the merchant marine and brought her lovely dolls from their travels. This sweet doll is painted hard plastic, which dates her to the later 1940s or early 1950s (you can tell because the paint is chipped on her hand and the plastic underneath is grayish, see photo 12). She has a crier that is not working and lovely long-lashed flirty eyes that are working fine and move from side to side if you tip her head. They also sleep. Her hair is a beautiful blonde wig styled into curls held with hairpins. She is jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips and her stringing is still good so she can stand on her own. Her sweet blue and pink print dress has some holes and fading and snaps in back. Underneath she has a sewn-on ‘onesie.’ One original shoe and sock is missing so I found her a pair of vintage flocked while shoes that fit her, and the original shoe and sock will be included. Please see the large and detailed pictures, which are part of the description, and feel free to contact me with any questions. This item will be shipped well wrapped in a cardboard box.
