NO RESERVE on this very early antique spelter (or some type of pot metal) MATCH HOLDER. Absolutely charming is the only word for this unique Victorian young lady sitting atop a fallen 'sheaf of wheat-flowers intertwined' (holder). She is holding a small hand sickle in one hand and clutches her head scarf in the other. The details of her clothing, face and surroundings is very well defined as is the match striker. PLEASE SEE PICTURES. The dimensions are as follows...approximately 5 1/4" long x approximately 3" wide (base measurements) x 3 1/2" high. Under the base are the numbers 367. Her sweet little face is just beautiful to look at. She is in excellent condition without any damage. T are two very teency pinholes in sheaf/holder side(not together but opposite each other) but looks to be part of the metal molding process(mentioned for accuracy). Also in picture showing front of piece the line you see in the center front base is a mold mark not a crack in the metal. Possibly had a stiff piece of felt material covering base at one time-base is open (see pics). Extremely wonderful addition to anyone's match holder collection. Please email with any questions before end of auction as all sales are final to settle this large estate.
