One Chinese Export Porcelain Tea Bowl which dates from the reign of emperor Qianlong (Ch'ing Dynasty). This teabowl was recovered by Capt Michael Hatcher in 1985 from the wreck of the "Geldersman" which sank in the South China Sea in January 1752, when it struck a reef off Batavia. The "Nanking Cargo" as it was called, became the most famous shipwreck cargo ever auctioned, attracting worldwide media attention, when it was sold at Christie's in Amsterdam during the period 28 April - 2 May 1986. This bowl measures 6 cm in diameter and is 3.4 cm high. The original Christie's lot number 5127 sticker is attached to the base. This Item is in superb condition (no chips, cracks or "rim fritting") and displays a beautiful rich blue glaze decoration. Additional $5.40 added to final bid for postage/insurance (U.S. addresses). Overseas shipping cost based on actual destination. Personal check, money order, PayPal accepted.
