Civil War 3 UNION HOTCHKISS ARTILLERY CASESHOT

3" UNION HOTCHKISS ARTILLERY CASESHOT

FIRED WITH LANDS AND GROOVES

This is a reproduction not the original case shot. This reproduction was cast from an original case shot that was found on private property near the Shiloh battlefield. This union shell is believed to have been captured and fired from a Confederate 3" rifled cannon. The lands and grooves are consistent with the 3" rifled Confederate gun.

This case shot was fired and found in a Confederate impact zone along side 3" Confederate Archers and 3" Confederate Burtons . It is my opinion that this case shot was captured by the Confederates and used against the Union forces. This case shot is very rare for the Shiloh battlefield. T have only a few of these 3" Hotchkiss case shot been found. Also I am going to send the winning bidder a description of the units that were capable of firing this caseshot at Shiloh .Wooden base not included in auction.

I hand craft all the items that I have for sale, and you can expect that the items will be of the highest quality possible.
