This albumen stereoview was taken and published by the premier New York Photographer of the 1860s-- E. Anthony of 501 Broadway. This image offers great insight into the Civil War life in America's largest City! The image shows the dirt streets of the era busy with horse and carriage traffic. Many people are shown on the sidewalks. Anthony's studio was at 501 Broadway, so maybe this image was taken from their roof top. The back of the card has a full label and 2 cent revenue stamp that has been cancelled "1864, 15 SEP"-- indicating the photograph was printed and purchased at the height of the Civil War and early in the Tax on Photographs. Overall condition is very good. The image area has some age discoloration and the mount has age discoloration that show its 140+ year age. All shipping options include shipping insurance (at costs). Buyer has a three day inspection period and the item is returnable for any reason for a full refund of bid price as long as it is returned in the SAME Condition as sent within seven days. Return postage and my postage costs are not refundable. By bidding the buyer agrees to the terms and conditions of this auction.
