Lot Description:These five Union buttons were dug in Union camps in Washington Co. Maryland. All have similar black patinas that are very pleasing. Four have manufacturing marks on the backs including the small cuff button. These are great buttons they seldom come from the ground in Virginia like this . Good provenance and Quality!Provenance: I did not dig any of the Civil War relics which I am listing. Those were too hard to come by and have special meaning to me. I have attended a number of CW Relic shows in the Richmond and Northern Va. area I have acquired some of my collection at these shows (especially from the digger when possible) but also from on-line sources. I try to obtain as specific provenance before I purchase. If provenance is available it is listed, if not that fact is also noted.Me : I am a long-time relic hunter and collector now living Northern Virginia. During the 1970's and some of the 1980's (before I went oversea for 20+ years), I hunted sites in Virginia especially in the Petersburg and Richmond theaters, others as well. This is one of several Civil War relics that I will be listing in the next several months.Hard to find like this anymore! My auctions feature low starting bids and low, at cost or below shipping.
