Clippertone Silver Cornet by Hawkes & Sons London

Here we have for sale The Clippertone Cornet made by Hawkes & Sons of Piccadilly London before Bossey & Hawkes were established.
The instrument has been in storage for many years so is in good condition for its considerable age 100 years plus. As can be seen on picture 4 there is some damage to the lower of the two main tuning slides - which has become detached and remains withing the sleeve of the instrument. There is also a small dent on that slide but very minor. Otherwise there are no real dents just a few very slight dinks with wear and some silver plate has been lost in places but is generally well preserved.
The instrument does blow but would clearly benefit from a service if to be used. The slides and valves are free.
Comes with a John Grey Autocrat mouthpiece marked 18 and is in its original box with closing clasps and handle but no locking key.
Any inspection is welcome - located in North Yorkshire. Happy to post abroad but higher costs to be met by buyer.
