Coleman 202 "The Professional" Nickel Green Single Mantle Lantern 1/55-Restored

Coleman manufactured the model 202 from 1954 - 1964 (although the last dated example found is October, 1963). These were made to be used outdoors with the liberal use of brass, stainless steel and nickel plated parts. They were designed for professional guides and outfitters, and Coleman called this model "The Professional." It is highly sought after by collectors as the number of units produced is relatively low compared to the other single mantle lantern of the era, the 200A.

Offered for sale is an outstanding example of the Coleman single mantle lantern model 202. It is a 1955 model with a brass base plate and a date stamp of 1/55 (January, 1955). In 1955, Coleman started using brass base plates. This is the first month of production with a brass bottom. The inside of the brass fount is clean and rust-free.
The burner frame, being stainless steel, is clean and shiny and looks nearly new, but is original. The burner cap is the correct ceramic burner that Coleman was using at this time period. The vent is in nice condition with a couple tiny chips on the lower sides and some cloudy spots on the lower portion. They look like water spots but won't wash off.
