Antique handmade birdseye maple wooden drinking cup with scrimshaw handle. Dimensions: 6x3 5/8 inches. T is carved geometric designs around the lip, on the bottom and in the cup itself. The handle is a scrimshaw style with a bone covering that has more carved design work. An interesting aspect to this piece is that the design on the bone handle has been worn down from finger placement due to usage. The history behind this item as it was told to us, is that this cup belonged to a sailor on a Nantucket whaling ship in the middle 1800's. The buy it now price is $250.00 or best offer.
