CROWN BURSLEM 1-pint pottery jug (cream or syrup pitcher) in a lovely white floral chintz - new and in mint condition ! This cute piece stands 4-1/4" tall and is 2-7/8" across the base and 2-1/2" across the top. The backstamp reads: CROWN B BURSLEM STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND. The white floral accents appear to have been hand-painted (see highlighted pic 4), and the chintz design covers the outside of the handle. This beautiful little jug would make a charming and useful addition to your breakfast table! :-) FYI: Those of you who watch my auctions know I usually sell only vintage items. However, when I first began collecting chintz I simply bought whatever I liked -- a very wide category, LOL. Yesterday I unpacked a box of chintz items I bought new on eBay several years ago and have never used. Some of these are reproduction patterns (I'll include that info if I know it). Other pieces, such as this jug, are a mystery to me. Was it made 5 years ago? or more like 10? What's the pattern name? What was the original retail price? I have no idea! I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who knows something about this particular pattern or shape, both of which appear to have been discontinued; at any rate, neither are available on Crown Burslem's website. Thanks much! I'm always happy to combine multiple purchases to save on shipping costs.
