This is Revell's kit of Admiral Dewey's flagship at Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War, USS Olympia. Classed as a protected cruiser, she was built in San Francisco in the early 1890's. She was 344 feet long with a beam of 53 feet, with a main battery of four eight-inch guns. The ship was saved from the scrap yard in 1954 by the Cruiser Olympia Association of Philadelphia, and thanks to their efforts this historic ship can be visited today at Philadelphia. The kit is complete with most parts still on the trees. Those that have come off are present. Instructions, flag sheet, decal sheet, and other Revell advertising papers are also present. The box is in fair condition but is a bit rumpled, and looks like it has some water damage. Fortunately this does not affect the kit itself in any way. I'm unsure of the scale, but the finished model is 17 3/4 " long.
