This auction is for a CWS-46159 TCS-8 RECEIVER made by Stewart-Warner. It had been modified to operate on 115 volts AC. Modifications include building an AC power supply where the crystal deck was and replacing the 12 volt tubes with their 6 volt equivalents. The power connector on the front panel has been changed and there may be other modifications. This receiver works fairly well on all three bands, but has some noise which suggest a noisy tube or possible an intermittent mica capacitor. Nice panel with good lettering, no corrosion, and all the correct knobs. An AC power cord (not shown) is included which has a mating plug for the power connector on the panel. The cord should probably be replaced. The set could probably benefit from an alignment and replacing of the old electrolytic capacitors. Take a good look at the pictures as they give a much better description than words can. Even though this receiver is working, the components are all 70 years old and subject to failure. Therefore it is being offered for sale AS IS with NO RETURNS. If you have any questions, please ask them before bidding. Shipping will be by UPS ground for the actual shipping cost, plus $12 for packing materials. The eBay shipping calculator usually computes shipping charges that are above the actual shipping cost. I always refund any excess, check my feedback.
