Declaration of Independence John Hay Sig 1902 Facsimile Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album is what my research tells me: John Hay was Secretary of State in 1902 and personal assistant to Abraham Lincoln. You can read about him /wiki/John_Hay . In 1902 He had a number of facsimile's made of the original Declaration of Independence. You can read about the details /archives/Restore_Declaration_of_Independence.html . I have tried to find out how many of these original Signed Facsimile's John Hay had made but I have not been successful. I don't know how many were made. This is one of those original signed examples. It is a facsimile that was hand Signed by John Hay. It is also marked Monticello Virginia October 7, 1936. I don't know the significance of that. Everything is in very nice condition. The frame appears to be original but I guess no one could say that for sure. The Frame measures 20-1/2"x15". It's a very interesting piece of American History. I am sure that t is suitable interest so I will impose no opening bit and will not use a reserve.
