For sale is a genuine silver age comic book: DELL JUNIOR TREASURY # 6, GULLIVER'S TRAVELS by JONATHAN SWIFT, published 1956 by Dell Publishing. The comic is in VERY GOOD or better condition with slight wear, some bending at the spine, and a small stain in the lower right corner. The pages are off white and supple.

DELL JUNIOR TREASURY was the most serious attempt by any publisher to compete head-to-head with Gilberton's Classics Illustrated Junior. The comic has excellent artwork and storytelling. The covers are slick and thicker than the average comic. T are no ads in the book. Word balloons are kept to a minimum, and the story relies mostly on narration and artwork. The comic also sports a hefty 15 cent cover price, which was much more than the 10 cents that comic book buyers were used to. However, Dell felt (as did Gilberton), that parents would pay extra for the higher quality of comic book. Unfortunately, the public didn't quite agree and the title lasted a mere 10 issues.
