Der Tod des Vergil, by Broch, First German Edition-1945

This is the First German Language Printing (Erste Auflage), by Pantheon, 1945, just after the appearance of the first english language printing, of the austrian writer Hermann Broch's masterpiece, Der Tod des Vergil (The Death of Virgil) (523 pages).

The spine, with faded lettering, is slightly cocked. T is light sunning to the orange borders, but no stains of note. T is slight fraying to the outside corners and ends of the spine.

T are no stamps or notations. T is a light stain to the top page edges, and a few shallow dinks to those top edges. That has left shallow tears, about an eighth inch, to a small number of pages. These can be seen in the photo below.

Most pages are without these marks. T are no other tears. T are no loose or missing pages. The page faces are clean throughout the book. All the text is unfaded and clean, as in the following photos, of the title spread and a random text spread.
