This item is a hand painted Dresden creamer and sugar decorated by the Franziska Hirsch studio c. 1893 - 1930. The sugar measures approx. 3 3/4" D X 2" H. The creamer is approx. 3" D at its base X 3"H. Both are decorated with gilt and floral sprays. The inside of the sugar is additionally decorated with individual hand painted flowers. On the inside of the creamers handle t is a small spot of paint or gilt w I think the artist slipped. You can see it in the photo of the creamer in which the handle is to the left. Also, on the sugar, which is molded with eighteen scalloped ridges around its circumference, just below the rim on every third ridge, t is a slight indentation which is decorated with three gold apostrophes. Five of these indentations are so decorated; the sixth is not (see photo #5). T is no wear, it appears the artist simply overlooked this one. Otherwise, both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This is part of a very large collection which I recently inherited from my mother who collected Dresden and other vintage porcelain for over 30 years. I hope to be listing a few pieces at a time. I am not personally a collector, but will try to provide descriptions and photographs which accurately depict the item and an accurate assessment of condition.
