You are looking at an unusual and near mint Longfellow Photo album. The album cover is not celluloid; it's a very hard plastic. It is also dated March 22, 1898 on the inside front cover, at the bottom.

As you can see, the cover features a man dressed in Middle Eastern type clothing; he has a knife hanging from his belt and he's holding a rifle. Gorgeous, raised embossed flowers surround him. The cover has a couple scuffmarks but other than that, it's in perfect condition.

The velvet back and spine are done in gorgeous red/green floral velvet and it's in near mint condition, with only slight wear to part of the edge and bottom. It's just stunning!

The gold-gilt edges are in mint condition and still retain all the gold. The clasp is intact and works perfectly. T are 15 pages and all but a couple slots have paper inserts. T are only a few torn slots. I took a photo of the first page, which has an imprint of a Victorian lady. The binding is tight.

This wonderful album measures: 16" long, 7" wide & 2" deep.

This would make a wonderful addition to any Victorian collection, especially those who collect photo albums.
