EAMES LOUNGE CHAIR HERMAN MILLER MID CENTURY MODERN

Thisclassic Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman has been in the family for over 25 years. This Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman are made with brown leather and Brazilian Rosewood (which is no longer available through Herman Miller). They have been impeccably maintained and are in wonderful shape and have been kept in the same cigarette and pet-free home since they were purchased new in the early 1980s. This set was not even used just in the house for display. The leather and veneer are beautiful, the cushions are not matted, and the button-tufting is firm. The original Herman Miller labels are also still on the underside of both pieces (see photographs.)

The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman were designed by Charles and Ray Eames, who began their association with Herman Miller in 1946, the same year in which the Museum of Modern Art gave an unprecedented showing exclusively of Eames designs. Techniques for such innovative processes as molding plywood into complex curves and bonding wood to metal and rubber, developed in the Eames' California office, were first used in products made by Herman Miller.
