EAPG Butter Dish 'LATE THISTLE', Cambridge, ca 1903-06

WELCOME

Pull up a chair, get comfy and enjoy the treasures collected over the past 40+ years. Over the next many months items from two grandmothers, mother, mother-in-law, aunts, friends, and neighbors will be offered. I have been moving much of my collection for years in boxes which have not seen the light of day for quite awhile. My children have made their choices (which were very few) and I do not have the space for everything as I have downsized into half the space. So you are now my new friends and family who, I hope, will enjoy a view of the past.

Everything will start at $9.99 or less, many at 99 cents and No Reserve will be placed on 99 percent of the treasures. So sit back, relax and enjoy a trip into the past 125 years of American heritage!

This is a Wonderful Butter Dish, LATE THISTLE, aka INVERTED THISTLE, by Cambridge Glass Co. ca. 1903. In 1906 it was marked NEAR CUT in the base. This is NOT MARKED near cut, tfore must have been made between 1903 and 1906. Check Mollie Mc Cain's book, "Field Guide to Pattern Glass", page 262. Although this is so close to perfect, it glows 'yellow' under a black light when tested. A rather thick and heavy piece which makes the design stand out. A truly eye-catching piece to use or display.
