EARLY ANTIQUE AAFA RED WOOD DOVETAILED DOLL CRADLE PENNSYLVANIA SQUARE NAILS

1817 ANTIQUE RED - ALMOST BITTERSWEET - WOOD DOVETAILED DOLL CHILDS CRADLE PENNSYLVANIA SQUARE NAILS
Up for sale is this amazing hand made baby's or child's cradle. It's a beautiful cradle with tons of character and that true folk art flavor. It's from Pennsylvania and has rounded legs and gently rocks from side to side with a little push.
It appears to be from 1817 as the bottom of the cradle has 1817 written in black as well as carved in to the wood. Wow!! We took a close up picture of it so you can see it. The black is hard to understand what the words say but we can see 1817.
The wonderful bittersweet finish appears to be all original and has nicks, chips, scrapes and wonderful patina on it as you'd expect from and item of this age. There is a lot of edge wear around the top of the cradle as well as some paint splashes or drips on the small end and one on the side. The ends of the rockers are a bit worn as you'd expect from years of rocking. The sides are a beautiful bittersweet color and have large dovetails on the ends as you can see in the pictures. The bittersweet color has "flecks" of a darker grey color in it giving it a great patina.
It has wonderful large, heavy square nails on the inside through the bottom and in to the legs.
It measures 36" L x 19" W (at the top) and 15" W (at the bottom) x 18.75
