This is a early Bufalo Lance Head. It measures 18 3/4 inches long. It was forged steel. It shows all the traces of early workmanship. Forge and file marks. It is double notched at the base. The tang has a single hole in the center. I noticed that this hole apears to have been punched through rather then being drilled. This lance shows alot of wear. Has a great old patina. I would date this lance to the 1860's period. These were traded to the natives and lots of them this size were used on the plains in the bufalo hunts. I will insure buyer satisfaction with a 3 day return privilage. This lance would make a great addition to any early plains weapons or fur trade collection.
