early Civil War MOUNTED ARTILLERYMAN & FAMILY CDV
- Source: Tias
A neat early Civil War CDV by photographers McIntosh & Vose of Vermont depicts a light artillery trooper seated with his young wife and son. Our artilleryman sports brass shoulder scale and wears an 1858 pattern hat with plume and enlisted artillery device. His enlisted regulation vest with stand-up collar and mounted pattern trousers (the seam of the inner leg double material of this type is clearly visible) are reminiscent of our #s 1844 & 1846 . A really nice example of country photographer work with interesting content.
