Presented for auction is a stunning early Staffordshire gaudy hand painted milk pitcher. It is marked on the bottom with an impressed Davenport over anchor mark and an impressed 36. This mark was used from the early 1830's thru 1860 but the impressed mark may pinpoint it to 1836. It is a glorious example standing 7 inches tall and measuring 7 1/2 inches from spout to handle. It features beautiful molding to the body and a gracefully scrolled handle and all the decorations are hand painted. We professionally repaired a small chip to the lip. This would be a treasured addition to any collection. A very rare and unusual example. We also professionally touched up some minor paint loss to part of the decoration. Our repair work is invisible.
