Presented for auction is a gorgeous early Staffordshire flow blue saucer. The decoration on this beauty is brushstroke hand painted. This pattern is known as Morning Glory but the maker is unknown. I would date it to circa 1840. It is made of ironstone and has a fancy paneled shape. The color and flow on this piece are quite dark and rich. It measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter and is 1 1/4 inches deep. It has typical age crazing but no chips, cracks or repairs. The yellow spot on the reverse side is just some glue left over from an old tape lable. I have just left it as is. This is quite the gem and would be a treasured addition to any collection.
