Large Antique Meissen Figural Group the pictures Up for auction is a superb antique Meissen porcelain mythological figural group. This magnificent "God of Wind" piece appears to have been modeled by Meissen Master modeler, Michael Victor Acier, well known for his many mythological figures and classical style. The God of Wind majestically rides the wind accompanied by 3 fair-haired putti. One winged infant gazes curiously at a sparrow, while another one clutches a floral garland to his chest, and the third cherub squeezes the bellows. Measurements Length: 10-1/2" Width: 7-1/2" Height: 8-3/4" Weight: 9 pounds Marks Underglaze cobalt crossed Meissen swords, no cancellation marks Incised D 82. Impressed 67 & 51 Condition Several restorations noted, but not guaranteed inclusive: Cherub's wing tip (holding bellows), robe by bellows, pointing finger. Several thin cracks on base, but appears structurally sound. Other than a few minor chips to the tiny flower petal and on the toe of a putti, t seem to be no missing pieces or chips.
