BEAUTIFUL EARLY MEXICAN SILVER RING - WILLIAM SPRATLING DESIGN AND QUALITY
When it comes to silver there is not a better or more beautiful moderately priced investment than the Vintage Silver Jewelry of Mexico's Silver Renaissance. Made in Taxco by a handful of avant-guarde designers, Mexican silver necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, brooches and silver belt buckles are prized by collectors and museums alike. William Spratling's items are extremely sought after and this piece can be seen on the web page. It is always a good idea to check up on items attributed to the early silversmiths as much as you can before bidding. Some pieces are genuinely mistaken by sellers if they do not know the complete history of Mexican Marks.
This truly lovely ring has all the signs and quality wormanship of William Spratling,Fred Davis or Hector Aguilar's tallers from the early Taxco Period of 1931 - 1946. It shows the MEXICO SILVER mark which was used before the introduction of the Eagle Numbering System so it is virtually impossible to accurately attribute this ring.
Dimensions: Full 3/4" Diameter and it is Size 6 (smallish)
Hallmark: MEXICO SILVER
Weight: 13g This silver looks more like 940 or above.
This piece is in truly excellent vintage condition an I hate to part with it.
