At auction is a true First Edition , First Printing with “First published...September 1952” on the copyright page, with no other printings listed. The book has the “bite” error on page 281 . It is in Near Fine condition. The mint green boards are in nice condition, with light soiling. The boards have very faint traces of tape residue, where a dust jacket may have been attached. The corners are sharp, with edge wear. The spine is in good condition, with a small scuff and a short ‘pull tear’ at the top (photo). The interior is very nice. There are no names or bookplates. The 602 pages are clean and tightly bound, with no folds or tears.
