Listprice: $630.00 The beauty of this art is the serene enlightenment it transcends to the viewer! "Tree of Enchantment" is a limited edition serigraph on art paper numbered 65/249 and hand signed by Hibel. The photo does not show the gold that she used in the branches. It is truly beautiful. Edna Hibel was born in 1917 and she grew up in the Boston area. By the young age of 9 she began experimenting with painting in elementary school. Her summers w spent along the shore in Hull, Massachusetts and in Maine learning about watercolor painting. Edna Hibel received her formal artistic training at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, from 1935-1939. In 1942, she was earned the Sturtevant Traveling Fellowship to Mexico. She organized the Edna Hibel Museum of Art, in Jupiter, Florida, to display and promote her work and also created a United Nations stamp, "Mother Earth." In 1995, she was commissioned by the Foundation of the U.S. National Archives to commemorate the 75th anniversary of women receiving the universal right to vote. Edna Hibel received a Lifetime Achievement Award from "Women in the Visual Arts," an organization of artists in the South Florida area.
