- Estate Fresh - Found in Old Home! - Freshly listed for sale on eBay by me are a bunch of mid-Century original illustration by Elmer Jacobs (check out all the others…buy several, save on shipping). � Many of the pieces here were used as illustrations for writer/author P.K. Thomajan and date cirda 1950s.� All are done on a heavy stock artists paper/board. All are done in what appears to be a mixed media, mostly ink & watercolor w/ occasional pencil.

BIOGRAPHY OF ELMER JACOBS
Chicago illustrator and graphic designer active from the late 1920s through the 1960s.
Born in Streator, Illinois, in 1901 or 1902, he was largely self-taught. From the late 1930’s onward he was much influenced by the New Bauhaus, also known as the School of Design in Chicago. A free-lance artist, Jacobs’ most visible clients were John Morrell &
