Marked with Erie Railroad logo 1859-1960 (period after the New York & Erie Railroad & before the Erie Lackawanna Railroad)
Usually found on the rear of a locomotive tender, at a tower, flag station or rear of a caboose generally signaling 'stop'

This is a tall glass -globe piece not the short post WW1 round glass globe. These were the first with globes that could be removed replacing the permanent glass Civil War era globes.
