ESTATE HATPIN COLLECTION, Black Amethyst/Rhinestones
- Source: eBay
ESTATE HATPIN COLLECTION of Lila Lindner of Tulsa, OK. She was an active member in the club, International Collectors Club of Hatpins & Hatpin Holders in the late 1980's and early 1990's. This club was founded by Lillian Baker in the late 1970's. Lillian Baker's first collector's guide published in 1976 is widely considered a definitive reference. The ICC of H & H H newsletter, "Points," volume 13 #1 featured pictures of some of Lila's hatpins. I will be listing many of Lila's hatpins and some hatpin holders as well.
Note; I am not qualified to identify hatpins by metal, stones, maker or age. Evaluation should be made by you with photos.
This hatpin is eleven and one half inches long! Shaft of the pin alone is almost eleven inches. Top stones are mounted on a round disc and has a black amethyst color domed and faceted center stone. Center stone is surrounded by ten rhinestones, each completely backed, no black spots or streaks. Without holding up to light stone appears black.
