DESCRIPTION: This is a lot of over 1050 old postcards of Canada from the estates of two long time collectors. Views include cities, towns, national parks, landscapes, churches, etc. We have tried to mix the cards to ensure a variety of views from the Atlantic to the Pacific.TYPES OF POST CARDS: This lot consists of the following:about 34 undivided back cards (pre-1907);over 180 older cards from ca. 1907-1920s; around 160 white border era cards (ca. 1915-1930):525 linen and printed cards (1930s-1950s); andabout 175 real photo cards (RPPC). DUPLICATION : T are two kinds of possible duplication in lots: 1) duplication of subject (e.g., a London collector could possibly have 100 different cards of Big Ben) and 2) duplication of a specific card (i.e., more than one copy of the same card). Both collectors liked British Columbia, Quebec and the Rocky Mountain parks, so t is certainly some of the first type of duplication. Hopefully, the variety of the cards collected and selected will result in relatively little of the second type of duplication. SIZE: Standard (approx. 3 1⁄2" x 5 1⁄2" ) AGE/ERA: Circa 1905-1950 CONDITION: The vast majority of cards are in good to very good condition. Cards are postally used and unused, with the vast majority falling into the latter category. PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE BIDDING: International Bidders:
