Etruscan 14k Coral Natural Pearl Lavaliere Necklace NR

You are bidding on an Antique Etruscan Revival Edwardian Period 14k Yellow Gold Coral and Natural Pearl Drop Pendant Lavaliere Necklace.

This lovely and elegant piece dates to the Turn of the Century and classifies into either the Beaux-Arts or Neo-Renaissance of c. 1905.

The tapered bail to the pendant is central to the piece and is hand traced in an Etruscan scroll motif. The body of the pendant has a bezel set carved Mediterranean Coral rose in a millegrained mount with a 3 mm natural pearl in the center. From the bottom of the mount t are five rings, each supporting a dangling chain link with 2-4 small natural seed pearls each, with a carved coral teardrop dangling at the end of the central link. The result is a classic symetrically tapered look. The back of the pendant mount is open and the reverse of the coral rose has a hole drilled in it. The pendant measures 1 1/2" long and 1/2" wide at it's widest.

The chain is of very fine oval link with a spring ring clasp that is marked 14k and is 23" long. This chain could very well be original to the piece yet cannot be proven. The entire ensemble weighs approx. 3 grams.
