Presented here is a very rare printing of "Summa Philosophiae Quadripartita" by Eustachius, printed in Geneva in 1634. The work is divided into four parts, and primarily concerns physics, metaphysics, and morality. The work includes a stunning folding plate of the solar system, with a highly detailed map of planetary orbits and constellations (placing the Earth at the center rather than the sun as in the Copernican heliocentric model).
Octavo. Bound in full contemporary calf. Stands about 6.5 inches tall. Divided into four parts, each with separate title page, index, and distinct pagination. Collates (14), 182, (12), (6), 130, (13), (1), (16), 308, (20), (8), 84, (10). According to collation provided on WorldCat the text is complete with prelims (although may be missing a couple of folding plates?-- however no obvious signs of any plates having been removed). The copy presented here includes one large folding plate and numerous woodcut diagrams throughout.
