Among the very rarest of all pocket knife patterns!! When's the last time you've seen a fish jack offered for sale? The answer for most is likely "never." This is a pattern that very few collectors have ever even seen. Even the foremost experts in the world have only seen a couple examples of this pattern. This offering presents a rare opportunity, as examples of the fish jack are seldom available in any condition. This example is completely original and was made by U.S. Cutlery Company. Goins' indicates the curved "U.S. Cut. Co. Made In U.S.A." tang stamp models were made 1875-1900, but other sources advise me that it is simply pre-WWI. Knife measures 3-3/8" closed. The master blade rides just a bit high and has a chipped tip. T are a couple very light pits on the tang, but otherwise t is no corrosion or pitting. The master blade has an incredibly long pull. Both blades have an excellent half stop and plenty of snap. I did not clean or oil the knife. Spring is quite strong. The bolsters are deeply fluted and the bone scales are just gorgeous. T are two very light and stable hairlines on the reverse scale. One is at the center rivet and the other is at the right rivet. These are just age cracks and are not active at all. Scales are very solid and completely tight. Just an outstanding, original example of an incredibly rare pattern!!
