Rare booklet The Fatman: The Fats Domino Story [or, in text, The Career of Fats Domino ] by Denis Preston (England: Leigh Leisure Productions, undated but offered as part of promo kit for Fats Domino's March 1986 concerts in London, so probably printed in that year).A4. Consists of cover, dedication page, 19pp text and back cover page, the text pages printed on one side only. Side-stapled three times and further "bound" with yellow adhesive fibre tape. Condition: as new .Though unassumingly produced, this is a lengthy (10,000+ words) and well-researched survey of Domino's career up to about 1981. Among the fellow-researchers acknowledged at the end are John Broven, Mike Leadbitter, Simon Napier, Paul Vernon, Mike Vernon, Charlie Gillett, etc. The dedication page refers to the author as having died at the age of 35.To the best of the seller's knowledge this text was not made available in any other form. It represents an early and highly commendable attempt to document the career of a major R&B artist. Very scarce.
