Federal Telephone and Telegraph Mod. 140 4 Tube 1920's

I decided to relist this and include a "buy it now", Once a bid is made though the buy it now will dissapear as t in no reserve. You will have a hard time even seeing this models value in the radio collector books. I recently bought a beautiful radio collection of mostly 1920's radios, horns and speakers and will be selling these all this summer along with some tubes and slightly newer radio equipment. please check back often as I will try to keep something listed. This is a very nice looking rare Federal Model 140 4 tube radio that was probably housed in a console with a phonograph when it was originally sold. The exterior is quite nice for its age and will include some beautiful Brass Based Tipped 201A and 301A display tubes but when I removed the radio chassis from its oak case I was dissapointed to see the green corrosion on its chassis from evidently being in a moist environment for a time so to electrically restore this will have to involve some disassembly and elbow grease for the copper again to be beautiful and shiny. This is a very unique quite pleasing to the eye radio and displays beautifully.(See Pictures) This is not a new one so it does of course have some minor flaws in its 80 plus years on this planet. Please look carefully at the pictures. This will be "sold as" is but is as described to the best of my knowledge. ... read more
